The IRONMAN 70.3 Alagoas will offer 40 coveted age-group qualifying slots to the 2021 IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship.
The group also announced the 2021 Certified Piedmontese IRONMAN North American Championship Tulsa triathlon is scheduled for May 23, 2021. The 2021 Intermountain Healthcare IRONMAN 70.3 North American Championship St. George triathlon is scheduled for May 1, 2021.

Athletes will begin their journey with a 1.2-mile swim at Sand Hollow State Park in Hurricane, a rolling 56-mile bike through scenic Washington County before tackling the signature climb through Snow Canyon State Park. They then embark on a 13.1-mile course on Diagonal and Bluff Street before climbing up Red Hills Parkway through the Red Cliffs Desert Reserve. The athletes will run along the bluff before returning to the finish line located on Main Street in the heart of downtown St. George.

One of more than 100 events in the global IRONMAN 70.3 race series, the IRONMAN 70.3 Alagoas triathlon will lead athletes along a 1.2-mile (1.9K) swim, 56-mile (90K) bike and 13.1-mile (21.1K) run throughout the city of Maceió. The race will begin in the calm waters of Pajuçara Beach with a one-lap swim. From Pajuçara Beach, the flat one-loop bike course will take participants through an amazing landscape extending to Frances Beach, providing remarkable views of the Atlantic Ocean. Athletes will conclude the race with a two-loop run along the Pajuçara Beach, following the palm tree-lined streets of Maceió.
“Maceió, the capital of Alagoas, is located in northeast Brazil. It offers a great coastal ambiance and stands out for its beauty, embedded in palm trees, mangroves and the bright green sea. It also has a remarkable culture, reflected in its arts and crafts, cuisine and customs,” said Carlos Galvão, Race Director. “Maceió deserves its nickname ‘Water Paradise’ and is famous for its sensational coastline with turquoise waters and amazing beaches.
